Melissa Shapiro
Dr. Melissa Shapiro is a pediatric gastroenterologist serving as clinical team leader in the Division of Gastroenterology at FDA. She earned her M.D. from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA and fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining FDA, Dr. Shapiro was practicing as a pediatric gastroenterology attending at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, where she also served as a pediatric residency mentor, pediatric residency research mentor, and member of the Pediatric Residency Program Evaluation Committee.
